Puppies!

The LHS Vet Med class welcomed a litter of six-week-old Leonberger puppies to class, with goals of helping to socialize and expose the puppies to new experiences. The class discusses animal behavior and training often, and this experience helped them to see first-hand how important it is to introduce new people and places to puppies at different stages in their development. In addition, the class collected fecal samples from the puppies and viewed them under a microscope. Performing fecal exams is another very common and useful veterinary skill. Any student getting to experience this would definitely have a great day!
